A new sidebar has been added to the Manager that allows access to administrative features - bookmarking, notes, and inline help.

Quick Guide

Every screen in the Manager now has a new admin sidebar that appears to the right on desktop or at the bottom on mobile. The sidebar will always have a bookmark icon and a notes icon. If there is help content for this screen it will also show a help icon, but we are still writing the content for this so most will not as the time of writing.

In conjunction with this, there are also new icons in the header for bookmark access, important notes, and admin notifications.

Bookmarks

A bookmark are shortcuts allowing you quick access to screens that you frequently visit without needing to navigate through the platform each time. To bookmark a screen simply click the bookmark icon in the sidebar and it will turn blue. From that point on it will always be accessible, no matter where you are in the Manager, from the bookmarks dropdown in the header.

Notes

A note can be attached to any screen by clicking the icon in the sidebar and composing a new note. You can make it private, just for your eyes, or public for all admins. You can also specify whether it is a generic note, a review note, or an urgent note.

A Review note will be highlighted in yellow, while an Urgent note will be highlighted in red. Both will also change the notes icon to a warning symbol and appear in the header as requiring attention. You can also @ mention other administrators in a note to ping them a direct notification.

You, or another admin, can mark a review or urgent note as having been closed by clicking the tick icon to turn it green.

The header icon allows you to see an overview or all open review or urgent notes.

Help

The help icon appears when help content has been written for a specific screen. This could be information on what the screen is for or useful notes about some of the features on it. We are in the process of writing this content so it will appear more frequently as the weeks pass.

We have other ideas for the admin sidebar in the future too so keep an eye out for further additions.
